Concord Grape

Historical USDA watercolour of the Concord Grape grape, painted 1840–1875

The Concord grape was bred in 1849 by Ephraim Bull in Concord, Massachusetts. A hardy blue-black American grape (Vitis labrusca) with slip skin and a bold "foxy" aroma, it became the foundation of American grape juice, jelly and kosher wine.
