Clapp Pear
Clapp's Favorite is an American pear raised in Dorchester, Massachusetts about 1860, of Bartlett-like parentage. Large and pale yellow blushed with red, it has sweet, juicy, fine-grained flesh and ripens just ahead of the Bartlett — though it bruises easily and must be picked early.
