Duchess of Oldenburg Apple
Duchess of Oldenburg is a hardy Russian apple introduced to the United States in the 1800s and valued in cold regions where few apples survived. Red-striped over yellow, with crisp, juicy, sharply tart flesh, it was chiefly an early-season cooking apple.
