Red June Apple is a historic fruit cultivar documented by the U.S. Department of Agriculture between 1886 and 1942. 10 watercolour studies of it survive in the collection, with specimens recorded from Virginia, Arlington; Maryland, Montgomery, Wheaton; North Carolina, Duplin, Faison, painted by Steadman, Royal Charles b., Passmore, Deborah Griscom, Lower, Elsie E. b.. The paintings served as official botanical identification records before colour photography.
