Red Russet Apple is a historic fruit cultivar documented by the U.S. Department of Agriculture between 1886 and 1942. 2 watercolour studies of it survive in the collection, with specimens recorded from Massachusetts, Berkshire, Great Barrington; New York, Dutchess, Arlington, painted by Arnold, Mary Daisy, Newton, Amanda Almira. The paintings served as official botanical identification records before colour photography.
