Sheriff Apple is a historic fruit cultivar documented by the U.S. Department of Agriculture between 1886 and 1942. 3 watercolour studies of it survive in the collection, with specimens recorded from Iowa; New York, Seneca, Interlaken; Washington, Stevens, Kettle Falls, painted by Prestele, William Henry, Arnold, Mary Daisy, Strange, M.. The paintings served as official botanical identification records before colour photography.
