Stayman Apple is a historic fruit cultivar documented by the U.S. Department of Agriculture between 1886 and 1942. 9 watercolour studies of it survive in the collection, with specimens recorded from Ohio, Wayne, Wooster; Maryland, Montgomery, Ednor; Maryland, Montgomery, Olney, painted by Steadman, Royal Charles b., Shull, James Marion, Schutt, Ellen Isham. The paintings served as official botanical identification records before colour photography.
