Wagener Apple
Wagener is an American apple raised around 1791 near Penn Yan, New York. Medium-sized and bright red over yellow, with crisp, fine-grained, juicy flesh and a pleasant sub-acid flavour, it kept well into winter and was valued as both a dessert and cooking apple through the 19th century.
