Wealthy Apple

Wealthy was raised in the 1860s by Peter Gideon in Minnesota and was among the first cold-hardy apples bred for the harsh northern United States. Red over yellow, with juicy, crisp, tart flesh, it became a popular all-purpose apple where tenderer varieties could not survive the winters.
